Herpetology Hike--Wiregrass Prairie Preserve
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann for a two-mile hike through Wiregrass Prairie Preserve and explore the biology of reptiles and amphibians along the way. Learn how these animals use their unique adaptations to survive in Florida. ** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. ACTIVITY: This will be a moderate hike. Soft sand on the trails may make it difficult for some hikers. RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered. TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary. AGES: Ages ten and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing for the outdoors WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen FACILITIES: There will be a port-a-potty but no running water.
